Procurement Director – International Power Projects

The client a leading provider of cleaner, greener technology, products and services for power generation: from turnkey steam power-plant projects to boilers, turbines, & nuclear. Our clients Group business unit offers full turn-key OEM Power solutions, delivering Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) for New Build and Major Retrofits.
Reporting to the Group Managing Director, you will establish a high performing procurement team and be responsible for developing & managing central best-practice procurement & supply chain processes, systems and governance on both overseas and UK EPC projects
Key Duties:
· Development and implementation of Framework Agreements for services & materials
· Development and implementation of template contracts for major purchases
· Recruitment, management and development of Procurement Team, initialising KPI’s and future departmental and company growth strategy.
· Ensuring smooth integration of cross functional processes and controls.
· Risk management.
· Analysing expenditure and developing commodity strategies globally to ensure best value.
· Working collaboratively with EC members, designing procurement & supply chain strategy.
· Policy & process.
· Developing a formal method to analyse staff competencies and identify skills gaps accordingly.
· Developing & managing key stakeholder relationships within the business at senior level

Required Experience:
· Proven experience in strategic sourcing, cost analysis, and risk management on Engineer, Procure, Construct, Manage (EPCM) and Project Management Consultant (PMC) contracts worldwide.
· Significant experience within a large scale international EPC projects environment.
· Significant commercial acumen and contractual experience.
· Thorough understanding of codes, governing regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Minimum: Relevant Engineering or Construction Degree
Preferred: MCIPS

Project Delivery Manager (UK Marine Survey Sector)

Our Client is a UK based internationally operating, marine geophysical, metocean and hydrographic survey company.
Objectives
You will lead Project Delivery team (4/5 project managers) within the overall Geotechnical Division tasked with maximising revenue and margin on Geotechnical offshore projects for a range of blue chip offshore sector clients in the O&G, renewable sectors. You and your team will need to deliver within agreed project management procedures to ensure that contracted work is completed on time, within budget and within quality requirements.
You will be responsible for ensuring your lead your team in their execution of projects from commercial handover throughout the planning, execution / controlling and closing stages. You will be instrumental in commercial, technical and budget management in all stages of the execution of the Project, in addition you will contribute to the Lessons Learnt Database and continuous improvement.
You will lead the PD team in all aspects of quality based project execution in its many facets including a strong and robust approach to client management and all aspects of contractual management in order to maximise client satisfaction whilst maximising project margin deliverables.
The role will also encompass a responsibility for on-going competency and training and development of the reporting project managers.
Responsibilities
· Work closely with the UK Commercial team on submissions prior to formal Contract Signature identifying and managing any significant risks alongside the Bid team.
· Carry out detailed Project Risk Assessments; prepare Risk Response Planning in liaison with other stakeholders.
· Report on overall UK Project portfolio performance on a weekly basis in cooperation with the Project Management team to ensure that all times the risk profile across the portfolio is being managed.
· Be the prime point of contact between the Customer and our client for the contracted projects when escalation is required outside the direct project manager concerned.
· Ensure appropriate tracking and delivery of all relevant invoice issue and payment collection across the live project portfolio.
· Ensure the appropriate management of all contracted projects as owned by the individual PM’s within the Geotechnical Division delivery team.
· Prime person responsible to ensure project portfolio budget profiles are maintained or improved.
· Ensure best levels / balance of quality, cost, time and scope are met.
· Lead a diverse Project Teams to a common goal.
· Report on project performance internally (and externally as required) at frequent & regular intervals, using dedicated Project Accountant & software.
· Identify in advance any potential overruns in terms of cost or schedule, and take action to mitigate if required and escalate appropriately.
· Work with the Group Projects Director in rolling out internal Project Delivery Quality Improvements.
· Feed-back internally (i.e. Lessons Learnt).
· Measure and maintain KPIs and ensure all stakeholders are fully aware and operate within these constraints.
· Work with our client’s Marine division in the management of key project stakeholders.
Requirements
· Thorough experience and knowledge of an appropriate Project Management methodology e.g. PMBOK (PMP)
· Minimum of 10 years project management experience ideally in the offshore sector.
· Proven experience working within a cross-functional environment.
· Solid knowledge of the marine engineering industry, encompassing Telecoms, Power, Oil and Gas and other core and non-core marine sectors.
· Strong and demonstrable Project Management skills.
· Relevant degree or education consistent with good analytical capability.
· Approved Project Management Qualification (APM, PMP, PRINCE or similar).
· Excellent ability to motivate Project Team.
· Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Project Server and Web-Access environment.
· A willingness and thirst to drive through new ways of working.
· Results-orientated individual with a desire to improve performance.
