Senior Bid/Proposals Manager (Power Plants)

An exciting opportunity now exists within a rapidly growing new business unit that focuses on new build, EPC based, power projects.
Likely candidates will possess;
·       Appropriate experience in tender management, preferably involving multi-country scenarios.
·       Experience of developing proposal strategies and consortium partners.
·       Experience in the power generation industry.
·       Thermal power or CCS project exposure.
·       Experience of supporting international bids.
·     Ability to travel to attend client site meetings overseas and potentially extended trips to support RFQ’s and tenders.  

Key duties will include;
·       Define the processes for clear communications to all parties involved in the proposal.
·       fine scope of work and agree deliverables with appropriate functions.
·       Organise and prepare as appropriate outside enquiries required for estimating purposes and tender preparation.
·       Prepare and update the Bid Schedule against which all tender deliverables are monitored and controlled.
·       Optimise completion of deliverables for most cost effective proposals.
·       Report progress of bids to senior management.
·       Assist with any pre-qualification requirements or RFI’s.
·       Set budgets & review proposal costs taking action to mitigate cost overruns.
·       Participation and preparation of execution strategy together with the Manager of Bids, and other team members.
·       Participation and preparation of risk management papers.
·       Lead in preparation of tender documentation for submittal to the Client.
·       Lead in preparation and participate in negotiation/questionnaire to support sales team.
·       Participate and contribute to Sales meetings.

There will be a need for some flexibility as some projects may require overseas travel & bid support.
