Senior Hydrographic Surveyor (Marine, Field Based)

Our Client is seeking applications for positions within their expanding Survey team which will involve both office and offshore based duties and report to the Survey Manager.
As one of the most rapidly expanding Geophysical companies in the industry, our client is highly active in the Cables sector, the Oil and Gas sector and are the foremost specialists in the UNCLOS/EEZ sector.
Successful candidates can look forward to enjoying well rewarded, stimulating assignments aboard their expanding fleet of geophysical survey vessel’s, operating in locations around the world.
Ideal candidates should possess excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate internally with managers and staff, and externally with Clients and sub-contractors, and a dynamic, hands-on approach to delivering hydrographic services will be a key requirement of this position.
Key activities:
• Operation of on-line navigation
• Operation of swath bathymetric systems
• Post Processing of navigation and swath data
• Report preparation
• Carry out administration tasks according to company’s procedures
• Be conversant with all leading edge technology relating to navigation and swath bathymetric operations
• Assist in preparation of proposals
• Advise and instruct relevant managers on hydrographic matters during all operations
Preferred qualifications:
• Degree in survey related discipline, or relevant experience and proven track record
• 3-5 years minimum field experience as hydrographic surveyor
• Data processing and interpretation experience; prior use of QINSy, QLoud and Fledermaus an advantage
• Knowledge of land survey techniques and practices an advantage
• Positive team spirit, good mental attitude and the ability to communicate to all levels essential.
