Geotechnical Engineer (Marine, Office & Field Based)

Objectives
To perform technical role defined by project manager or offshore project manager during the execution of projects of Geotechnical Engineering and Marine Surveys. The position has a combined role of offshore project fieldwork and office based engineering and reporting.

Responsibilities
Included, but are not limited to the following:
• Site supervision of geotechnical investigations predominantly offshore
• Performance or supervision of geotechnical description and laboratory testing of soil and rock samples
• Quality control and processing of in situ testing
• Production of borehole logs
• Specification of laboratory testing schedules
• Generation of design soil profiles
• Performance of geotechnical engineering including bearing capacity calculations, piled foundation design, liquefaction assessment and pile driving analyses
• Creation of engineering reports

Liaison
The Geotechnical Engineer will be responsible to the offshore project manager during fieldwork and coordinate all disciplines of the shift. During reporting activities the Geotechnical Engineer will work either directly for a Project Manager or in conjunction with a team of Engineers reporting to a project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience &/or recognised qualification(s) in Geology or Engineering Geosciences Honours Degree
