Bid Manager (UK Marine Sector)

Objectives
• The Bid Manager will lead the bid response process and manage individual bids covering all business lines within the Group, with focus on large-scale complex bids.
• Lead a team of commercial engineers and manage the development of all bids from ITT stage to pre-submission, observing approval protocols and engaging other business functions in the bid process as appropriate.
• Ensure, through a full understanding and appreciation of the business portfolio, that appropriate offerings, within a complete and competitive solution, are proposed to meet the client requirements: leading the bid process through all stages from qualification through to handover to the project team, whilst developing and maintaining best practice throughout the bid cycle.

Responsibilities
• Management of bid submissions
• Plan and manage post bid submission activity
• Continued improvement of the standard and quality of bids to increase bid win ratio
• Give support and assistance to other bid team members as required, to ensure bid management provides an effective and value adding function throughout the business.
• To be aware of the contents of the company’s Quality and Safety Policy Manuals and to be ever mindful of ones responsibilities in the workplace which effect the health and safety of oneself and those of work colleagues.
• Any other duties deemed necessary, which are within the bounds of the incumbent’s competence and function

Liaison
The incumbent will interface with the Commercial Engineers, the Group Commercial Manager, Commercial Team, Project Managers, Business Line Managers, along with other senior management and employees as applicable and will participate with and support Group level activities.

Qualifications
Critical Technical Skills/Qualifications:

Experienced Bid Manager, 5 years+ bid management experience leading complex bids with relevant industry background

Strong Project Management skills – formal methodology accredited

Educated to degree level
