PMC Project Manager (Saudi Arabia)

Having currently been awarded the contract to provide PMC services for a privately owned power and utility company in Saudi Arabia, our client has a number of exciting opportunities across this project including key personnel to provide oversight of EPC contractors, as well as, a core management team overseeing the entire project.
As the Project Management Contractor our client will be providing services for a number of projects. Work includes conceptual design, front-end engineering, design and construction monitoring, and other services necessary for successful installations. Projects involve expansions, upgrades and installations of wastewater treatment plants, electrical power generation facilities, and seawater desalination plants.
Our Client has an immediate need for Project Managers for assignments of up to 18 months duration.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Lead the PMC effort with the respective EPC contractor.
• Be the first point of formal and informal contact with the requisite EPC Contractor.
• Be responsible for requiring full compliance with contract requirements by the requisite EPC contractor and ensure that the appropriate PMC resources are in place at the right time to effect this commitment
• Ensure realisation of the whole facility through the coordinated activities of their assigned EPC Contractor with their remaining EPC counterparts
Essential Experience:
• Relevant Engineering degree
• 15 years experience in Power, Process and/or Marine industry
• Significant Project Management experience
• Prior PMC experience on large Middle East projects
• Commercial awareness with previous exposure to Client/Contractor claim management and negotiation techniques
• Competent in the coordination of globally dispersed project teams
• Confident in use of project delivery software and tools, especially with respect to cost and schedule control
• Ability to organise and communicate
• Ability to evaluate technical and commercial information
• Ability to review third party engineering design, procurement, manufacturing, shipping, sub-contract, project operations and head office site preparations to require compliance with project specifications, schedule requirements and Contractual obligations
• Understanding of succinct and salient report writing, conveying key data or information in a clear and concise fashion
• Effective interpersonal skills to ensure productive working environment amongst own team and that of all associated stakeholders.
The Project Manager will be based at an assigned EPC Contractors engineering office. The Project Manager will not relocate to the Project Site but will progressively handover the key remaining activities to the associated PMC Construction Manager as EPC contractor home office workload subsides, typically 20 months or so after commencement.
