Head of Projects, EPC Construction & Commissioning - Power Plants

An exciting opportunity now exists within a rapidly growing new business unit that focuses on new build, EPC based, power projects.

The role will include primarily responsible for the execution of projects, providing direction and leadership to the overall Project Management, Construction Strategy & Control for the group’s projects. The position supports all aspects of Operations. It includes the establishment and implementation of policies, procedures, programs and standards related to the effective execution of large scale full life cycle EPC projects. The position will develop and implement best practices.

EXPERIENCE

• Extensive project management experience in the energy and/or power sectors, ideally with EPC expertise gained internationally, typically with project values in excess of £500m.
• Simultaneous direction of multiple, concurrent project & construction teams.
• Exposure to plant construction strategy, delivery and commissioning.
• Effective management of work processes within the sales, engineering, procurement & construction environments.
• Significant exposure to integrated plant using fossil, CCGT, Biomass.
• Demonstrated experience of contract management and budget control with proven record of successful project execution outcome.
• Experience of working with a variety of project and contract execution models.
• Project execution within Consortia arrangement.
• Ability to work with individuals at all levels within the organisation.
• Significant commercial acumen.
• Ability to negotiate and influence at a senior level both internally & externally.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Qualifications; Honours Degree in a related engineering, construction or commercial discipline
• Preferred Qualifications; MBA or equivalent and membership of the APM or equivalent.
