Technical Director – Offshore Renewables Development (Environmental)

Our Client is an international environmental consultancy providing global advice and support on a wide range of strategic and site-specific issues to a diverse and growing base of business, regulatory and governmental clients. It recognises the importance of the offshore Renewables sector in delivering national and international targets and has been developing and expanding its presence in this sector for a number of years.

It is now looking for somebody to head up this initiative and further drive business in this sector, and is particularly looking for candidates who could drive the development of the following areas:

• Site selection and feasibility assessment (e.g. via spatial analysis and resource modelling etc);
• Project development (e.g. scoping studies, stakeholder liaison, EIAs etc);
• Site survey and management (e.g. site investigations, bird and marine surveys, geotechnical checks etc)
• Construction and operational support (ITT development, project management support, CDM Planning
  Supervisor etc)

NB: Candidates who have due diligence experience in this sector would be particularly welcome.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for developing our Client’s offshore business sector in the UK although this role will also need to consider and develop global opportunities for business. There would also be the opportunity to develop and shape our client’s global capability.

The role would be to facilitate, coordinate and develop the business sector, whilst also carrying out chargeable work within the field of their expertise. The position would report into the main Consulting Board and it is expected that the candidate would significantly develop/influence the company’s UK and global offshore strategy.

  • Good network of potential clients
  • The ability to lead, influence, motivate and grow technical teams

Desirable: 
Experience of due diligence/M&A in the Renewables sector
International consultancy experience

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION / MEMBERSHIP:
Essential:
Relevant first degree

Desirable:
Related post-graduate qualification

Membership/Chartered Status with a relevant professional body/institute

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
