EPC Subcontract Managers, (Civils & Mechanical – Power Plant)

An opportunity has arisen within our clients expanding business unit for an experienced Manager, Subcontracts in both Civils & Mechanical disciplines. The successful applicant will be responsible for managing and setting up the Subcontracts Management group, budgets and strategies.
Reporting directly to the Procurement Director, the appointed candidate will be responsible for managing subcontract operations to ensure the effective formulation and administration of subcontracts for major new build EPC power plant projects meeting contract and Company requirements.
Key duties of the role will include:
• Responsibility for the development and implementation of a Subcontract Management Program for each project including front end work to support project bidding activities.
• Analysing the subcontract general terms and conditions to highlight areas of risk such as ambiguities, conflicts or deviations from the scope of work. As work proceeds, make recommendations to the Site Manager on the mitigation of these risks; closely monitor and support remedial actions and recommend appropriate tradeoffs.
• Responsibility for the development and management of appropriate mechanisms to monitor compliance with subcontract terms and conditions.
• Responsibility for working with the other Project Team members to ensure that Company or customer related actions or inactions which could result in constructive subcontract changes are identified and make recommendations on their resolution.
• Responsibility for adherence to subcontract insurance provisions and to ensure implementation of any requirements in this regard.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience working in a Procurement/Subcontract function in the Power Generation and/or Process Industrial Sectors related to global engineering contracting projects. They will also have appropriate experience of managing staff to deliver subcontracts on a project basis
