Energy Efficiency Engineer
Salary: £28k-£33k
Provide consultancy, deliver projects, supporting the Energy and Sustainability Operations team. The Operations team are responsible for supporting clients with energy and carbon reduction opportunities in existing operational buildings. The candidate will assume the role of project manager as required, co-ordinating with internal teams, other project disciplines and the client.
Principle Responsibilities
(i) Undertake energy surveys and audits of existing energy and services infrastructure including production of benchmarks, energy performance analysis and development of recommendation to improve energy performance of buildings to both load management and services, in terms of costs, energy and carbon savings.
(ii) Working knowledge of building services and understands how to make operational systems more efficient.
(iii) Qualifies AC Inspector in accordance with TM44
(iv) Working knowledge of IES Dynamic Thermal Modelling Software
(v) Qualified to produce EPCs using IES Dynamic Thermal Modelling
(vi) Support delivering and monitoring quality and resource requirement for each project within your control.
(vii) Maintain professional knowledge of energy and sustainability legislation.
(viii) Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
Other Responsibilities
(i) Develop and manage energy management tools within our clients Energy Division.
(ii) Develop understanding of new and up and coming legislation and how it will impact business.
Preferred Experience & Qualifications
The candidate is to have 2-3 years experience as a design engineer within a recognised engineering practise and have a detailed knowledge of the design procurement and installation process for major projects.
(i) An Energy/ Building Services related degree.
(ii) Membership of a professional engineering body.
(iii) Working knowledge of operational building services.
(iv) Good communication/presentation skills
(v) Understand client requirements/objectives
(vi) Thorough knowledge of statutory legislation and other standards
(vii) Minimum 2-3 years experience – technically competent in Building Services/ FM and energy efficiency.
