Senior Estimator - (Coal Fired Power Plants)

Our client is seeking Senior Estimators to fill High Priority Power Sector postions, candidates must have large scale exposure to Coal Fired projects.

Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate and agree with the Proposal Engineering group the agreed output documentation for the specific proposal.
• Evaluate sub-contractor quotations making due allowance for best fit currency requirements, scope and payment terms.
• Responsible for the accuracy of all component parts of the estimate
• Preparation of commercially and technically competitive estimates with identified and acceptable risk.
• Set target allowances and review the component estimates against these.
• Maintain the global database of component prices.
• Assist the Manager Estimating in the development and maintenance of a parametric based estimating system.
• Maintain and seek continual improvement of procedures
• Offer assistance and advice to other estimators and to assist in the training of the Selling Region’s estimating personnel
• Prepare Budget quotations derived from previous firm price bids making due allowance for scope changes, currency movements and inflationary pressures.
• In the event of a Contract assist in the preparation of Contract Handover documents and work with Project Management in the early days of a Contract by providing access to all estimating files and providing rationale explanations concerning judgements made

Experience:

• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and data
• Advanced use of spreadsheets
• Exposure to large scale EPC projects
• Be able to review bids from suppliers and form judgements on scope content and be able to make appropriate judgements on price basis
• Have understanding of exchange rate mechanisms, taxes and duties, project finance and internal accounting structures

Minimum Qualifications: ONC (or equivalent) in related engineering discipline

Preferred Qualifications: HNC in related engineering discipline
